Under direction of the Commercial Card Senior Product Manager, the Treasury and Payment Solutions (TPS) Card Product Analyst will play a role in the development, management, and optimization of our card products and services. This includes assisting with planning, organizing, and directing the development and maintenance of commercial/business card projects from conceptual stages through product life cycles. Additionally, the TPS Product Analyst will assist with gathering industry and competitive data including products, pricing and customer response for all HTLF markets. Occasional travel required.


Primary Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with assigned Product Managers, communicates with various business lines the proposed new product or enhancement of a product as a part of the discovery process for research and development. Coordinates with and helps to educate Sales, Implementations and Bankers as to what the new product or forthcoming enhancement will be along with associated timing of execution.
  • Meets with assigned Product Managers frequently to ensure timeliness of updates to the Product Roadmap and Product Project Plans so that key milestones are achieved, and deliverables are provided prior to deadline.
  • Aids in preparation and review of primary and secondary research to provide direction for TPS pricing, delivery, product design and customer adoption.
  • Prepares initial training material of new products and product enhancements to position the sales team for success in growing/retaining business.
  • Prepares and modifies or assists with preparation and modification of the development of sales collateral and customer training/on-boarding materials and tools used by the sales team.
  • Ensures timeliness of review of all contracts and materials for training purpose internally and externally by working closely with the Marketing and Legal Departments.
  • Ensures product profitability for assigned products and assists with data preparation and key milestone activities for the annual TPS pricing review with all banks.
  • Assists in and works closely with operations to finding solutions to growing customer needs.
  • In collaboration with assigned Product Managers and Product Team Manager, develops recommendations on product bundling, capabilities, segmenting, and pricing
  • Provides estimates of product profit potential.
  • Develops competitive analyses and pricing models to formulate recommendations and parameters for pricing implementation in various markets. Builds pricing models as needed.
  • In collaboration with assigned Product Managers and Product Team Manager, assesses product lines' abilities to meet market needs and business units' objectives and develops or proposes product solutions where gaps exist.
  • Provides consulting services "as product expert" to sales people for customer presentations/sales and all company business lines in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Identifies and monitors competitors with competing products, pricing and customer response for all HTLFmarkets.
  • Partnering with Operational departments for programming product specifications.
  • Maintains relationship with Sales, Implementations and bankers for integrating sales practices.
  • In collaboration with assigned Product Managers and Product Team Manager, assists with establishing marketing objectives for each product.
  • Assists in writing technical product descriptions for internal and external use.
  • Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas to develop and provide product information responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Completes annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it relates to the job function.


Secondary Responsibilities

  • Ensures that HTLF policies are followed, controls are utilized, and the product management methodology is followed to prevent audit findings. If audit findings occur, collaborates with assigned Product Managers and Product Team Manager to ensure they are remediated prior to deadline.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors preferred or Masters preferred or Equivalent experience preferred
  • 1-3 years experience in bank operations, marketing, financial product development and/or research and interpretation of data required
  • 1-3 years Treasury Management and/or Commercial Card Payments specifically preferred
  • General knowledge of TM products, payments, risk management, relative compliance and commercial banking preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer facing skills - strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong presentation and training skills preferred
  • Ability to function effectively in matrix management environment preferred
  • Ability to multi-task/facilitate various tasks for multiple projects at the same time required
  • General understanding of marketing and data needed to manage business growth preferred
  • Knowledge of banking database software, statistical measurement software such as SPSS, Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Access preferred

The targeted salary for this role is:

$65,480.00 - $85,124.00

Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location of the specific role as well as work experience, education, and skills of the selected candidate.
