Job Specifications

Responsible for supervision of company and contractor construction inspectors within the state Electric Operations organization. Effectively lead the State inspector workforce, focusing on obtaining organizational objectives within the guidelines of providing safe, reliable Electric utility service to customers.

Pay Range: $100,650 - $166,050 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)
This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.

Reporting Relationship: Construction Manager - Electric Operations

Location: Pueblo, CO

Essential Functions:

* Proactively promote and lead safety initiatives in all phases of operations and in compliance with DOT, State, and Company standards.
* Inspect work, supervise, schedule, train, and develop employees in areas of construction inspection including the direct supervision of electric bore crew operators and utility locators.
* Manage employee & labor relations issues at the operational level, with assistance from Human Resources.
* Resource appropriately to aid in the completion of all regulated/mandated work.
* Ensure completeness of work order packets for capital projects; assist in ensuring permits are on site, current, and include proper right of ways
* Respond to and resolve customer requests and issues.
* Make daily decisions that positively impact capital and maintenance programs including third party contractors.
* Maintain training records and compliance documentation.
* Respond to emergency situations.


Additional Responsibilities:

* Rotating 24hr weeklong on-call support, including the ability to travel on short notice.
* Ability to backfill into the role of Operations Supervisor as needed when other leaders are out of the office or need additional support.
* Ability to work on uneven terrain and various construction site conditions, to stand for several hours at a time and to work in hot and cold weather conditions.

What You'll Need:

* Bachelor's Degree in business management, engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
* 5 or more years of construction, utility industry, electric operations, or other relevant experience


What Is Desired Or Can Be Taught:

* Knowledge of specific OSHA 10:269 regulations and Code of Federal Regulations.
* Knowledge of ROW requirements.
* Ability to work with Engineered plans and specifications, plan and profiles, etc.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to be effective in a fast-paced environment.
* Financial management, budgetary, planning, and forecasting skills.
* Strong problem resolution skills.
* Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software).
* Ability to participate in cross-functional teams and lead external contractors.
* Effective project management skills.
